Chulala: A priceless broom

Chulala: A priceless broom

Sarvendriyanam Nayanam Pradnam said.

There are many ways to live with any handicap a person is born with.

But without the nayanas (eyes) which are the main senses, life is dark.

It is said that even if a person has a disability, the mind should not have a disability. There are many people in our society who overcome the deficiency and achieve amazing achievements despite having an organ deficiency. Blindness was defeated by the willpower of such inspiring blind women. "Lakshmi Menon" is the self-confidence that drives it forward. Moreover, they have been given self-employment with skill training in working without worrying about the feeling of inferiority complex of having no eyes. He continues to live with self-confidence regardless of his blindness.

Lakshi Menon hails from Cochin, Kerala. A designer and businessman by profession. Lakshmi Menon runs a company called 'Pure Living' in Cochin. The main objective of this organization is to spread awareness in the society about the importance of green living and provide livelihood to the poor. Ammummathiri / Wixdom Project by Lakshi Menon is crowdsourcing many women living in old age homes and orphanages in the state of Kerala.

Lakshi Menon created a project called "Pen with Love" with a brand new idea. Pens made of paper with the sole purpose of reducing the use of plastic for environmental protection. This project will provide livelihood to 30 women. This program for environmental protection has been successful all over the state of Kerala.

"Orange Alert" warning system is designed to avoid road accidents.

Apart from this, he took up many other programs and got a recognition for himself.

It is no exaggeration to say that every program undertaken by Lakshi Menon was a backbone for the livelihood of the poor.

 Awards and Achievements:

  • ·        Amitabh Bachchan was felicitated by Amitabh Bachchan on Star Plus produced by BBC World on the show 'Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi'.
  • ·        Honored as an Earth Day Network Star in October 2018 by Earth Day Network Global, an apex organization. Environment with special reference to seed pen.
  • ·        In 2018, he was selected as a member of the Governing Council of the National Innovation Foundation.
  • ·        She has won countless awards including the prestigious Vanita Woman of the Year Award.
  • ·        Included in the famous Marie Claire magazine's 'Genius' list.
  • ·        In 2017, an online media outlet included her in their '10 Most Inspiring Indian Women Entrepreneur' list.

Chulala: A priceless broom:

One day Lakshi Menon came to the Ayurvedic beach resort in Thrissur for a holiday visit. She was impressed by the beautiful scenery of the resort and the coconut trees in it. While she was enjoying the beauty of the nature, the gardener was working to remove the dried coconuts. After seeing that incident Lakshmi got an interesting idea. Making brooms from dry coconut leaves is a tradition in the villages. Lakshmi started the process of making brooms from coconut leaf pulps, remembering the incidents of making brooms with her grandmother and mother in her childhood. She realized that she could easily make five brooms a day. But instead of the plastic usually used for taping broomsticks, the tailor decided to use pieces of scrap cloth from the shop. The reason is to reduce the use of plastic and with the main objective of making the price accessible to the common man. Moreover, it was determined that each broom can be sold for 250 rupees.

She decorated the first two broomsticks beautifully and mounted them on the wall of her house premises and shared the pictures of the broomsticks with her friends and relatives through social media. When her friends and family members and followers saw her pictures of broomsticks, she immediately received orders for them. Then she came to know about the Kerala Federation of the Blind and through her friend that there was not much work for the women in the federation. Her friend told her not to think about an activity to help blind women. The next day she visited the Federation of the Blind and explained to them how to go about this idea. She was surprised to see a great response from them after that.

The brooms they make are called "Chulala".

'Chool' means 'broom' in Malayalam.

Lakshmi decided to keep broomsticks under the artisanal broom category.

Lakshmi explained to them in detail the process of making broom bundles and their cooperation gave her confidence that she could do this project. Noticing that they could make 20 brooms each in a day, it took a lot of effort to bring marketing facilities to match. Broom bundles have started selling online for Rs.500 and offline for Rs.300.

Lakshmi has also negotiated with airport authorities in Kerala to make brooms available at all souvenir shops. Everyone was being promoted as "This is the best souvenir you can get from our country".

In fact, these priceless brooms are very artistically made by visually impaired women. I heartily congratulate this team of women and creator Lakshmi Menon for proving that disability is not for man but for man.

Pen with Love:

A project called Pen with Love was created with the main objective of reducing the use of plastic and planting trees. Using paper instead of plastic to make the pen, the pen has been designed with seeds of Agastya trees embedded in the end of the pen. It can be said that this generation does not know much about the Agastya tree. Lakshmi collected the seeds after much searching.

Agastya plants are rich in medicinal properties and their leaves and flowers are used to treat diseases like thyroid. This pen, which has many features, is designed with the intention that once it is used, the seeds in the pen will germinate and grow into plants. A mature tree has enormous benefits for our health and the environment. Many women are getting livelihood through this project.

Launched by Megastar Mammootty on 5th June 2016 on World Environment Day. Although Lakshmi had set a target of selling one lakh pens that year, all were sold within four months.

Lakshmi, today, is very visible on many global platforms for her "With Love" initiative. It is great that she was selected as one of the 10 women from around the world.

Along with flood victims:

'Chekkutty' dolls born in Chendamangalam, a handloom village affected by the 2018 floods, have traveled to the United Nations to spread a message of love and compassion. 'Chekkutti' dolls made of handloom cloth spoiled by floods in Chendamangalam sell for Rs 25 in India but fetch higher prices abroad. The collected amount was distributed to the weavers who lost everything in the flood. Lakshi Menon stood by the flood victims. Helping those in need is commendable

Congratulations to the rescuers:

The insurance scheme she introduced for fishermen who became rescuers during floods was a success. The annual premium amount is Rs. Anyone can sponsor a fisherman by paying 24. To promote this, students from various campuses in Kerala have made paper boats to convey messages of love to fishermen. The paper boats are now on display at the NIFT campus in Kochi.

Many women are getting livelihood through the projects created by Lakshi Menon. For that, Kerala is a state that India can be proud of.

5 Strangest Places in the World

There are many miracles, endless wonders and special features in this creation. There are natural scenes that give a lot of pleasure to human being. Scientists are not able to find the right evidence even after researching all the miracles that cannot be believed directly.

Newton, who explained the secrets of the universe to humanity, observed an apple falling from a tree one day and proposed the theory of gravity in order to explore the reason why the apple fell down. He defined the laws of motion and proposed the law of universal gravitation, explaining how the force of gravity acts on objects in the universe, including the Earth, the moon, the planets, and the sun.

When we were children, we learned in textbooks that when an object is thrown up, it falls back down because of the gravitational force of the earth.

But is it possible for an object thrown upwards not to fall? It is natural that many people have doubts.

It can be said that it is possible for an object thrown upwards not to fall where gravity is defied. We know that all this earth has gravity. But not many people know about the places in the world where gravity doesn't work.

It would surprise us to know that there are only 5 places in the world where gravity does not work.

 1. Magnetic Hill, Leh, Ladakh, India

In the Indian country, Ladakh union territory, the places within 30 km distance from Leh district attract tourists with beautiful and charming scenery. One such amazing attraction is “Magnetic Hill”. It is located on the Leh-Kargil-Srinagar National Highway in the Trans-Himalayan region at an altitude of 14,000 feet above sea level. Indus River flows east of Magnetic Hill. A yellow sign board erected there attracts the attention of the tourists as soon as they reach the Magnetic Hill area. "Magnetic hill, a gravity-defying phenomenon. Park your vehicle on the road in a box marked with white paint," reads the sign. In this area even with the engines of the motor vehicles stopped they continue towards the hill at a speed of twenty kilometers per hour.. The layout of the area and the surrounding slopes create the optical illusion of a hill. A hill road is actually a downhill road. Objects and cars on a hilly road appear to roll uphill in defiance of gravity when they are actually rolling downhill. It is strange that no one understands why they are going back. Tourists who come here are amazed to see this strange magnetic hill. It is said that unexpected changes occur in the speed of helicopters when they come near this hill. July and October are the best time to visit this magnetic hill.

According to the theories:

Some people believe that this happens because of the magnetic power of this hill, and some say that there are invisible forces in this hill area, and some say that it is an optical illusion. This is where the layout of the surrounding land produces an optical illusion, appearing to slope slightly downhill. Uphill slope. Hence, a car with a gear left appears to be rolling upwards against gravity.

2. Saint Ignace Mystery Spot (Saint Ignace Mystery Spot, Michigan, USA).

The Mystery Spot in the St. Ignace region of Michigan, USA is famous as a great tourist destination. First of all who could not recognize the peculiarities of this region.

Some surveyors have identified the mystery spot as unique based on an actual incident that took place in 1939. When the surveyors first arrived at St. Ignatius, all their equipment was paralyzed. The surveyors were surprised to find out the reasons why all the equipment stopped at the same time and it was found that this happens only in a 300 feet diameter circle in that area. . In this region the heights of two people are the same. Even though both of them are of different size... if you climb a stone there... they will be the same size. Moreover... it is impossible for a man to lean on a wall but he can lean on the walls there. But do not fall down. The mystery spot continues to amaze and perplex hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world. It is even more surprising that scientists after many experiments say that there is nothing but optical illusion but cannot give the exact reasons.

3. Mystery Spot, Santa Cruz, California

It is like the mystery spot of St. Ignatius. America, in the state of California. Located in a forest area near Santacruz is a wonderful little area with many wonders and features that is only 150 feet in radius. Those in that area can bend sideways. Can walk crookedly. It looks like they are climbing a hill. Many tourists visit the place frequently. Because. No matter how many times I see it, I don't understand what the mystery is. Although scientists have done many researches, they say that the main reason for this happening is due to optical illusion, but the exact reason is not known. This rare area is crowded with tourists.

 4. Waterfall, Faroe Islands

This is a waterfall in the Faroe Islands in the Atlantic Ocean between Scotland and Iceland. Normally the water in a waterfall falls naturally from the top. Only here the water appears to be going up instead of down. Some say that this happens because of the wind blowing from below and some say that the water coming from the waterfall is pushed up by the wind. Strong wind blowing at a speed of more than 75 km per hour causes such phenomena.

5. Hoover Dam, Nevada, USA

This dam is located on the borders of Arizona and Nevada states in America. Hoover Dam was once known as Boulder Dam. It is an arch-gravity dam built in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. The distance from Las Vegas to Hoover Dam is about 37 kilometers. Those who have gone to Hoover Dam are amazed to see the wonders there. If you drop water from the top of the Hoover Dam with a bottle, the water will not fall down. Goes up to the sky. No matter how many times the water is released. Water goes up. Unbelievable but tourists can't help but be amazed by this miracle. According to the information given by the scientists after doing a lot of research, the wind is blowing from the bottom to the top near the dam. That wind pushes the water up. That is why this is happening. However, this seems strange to tourists.

"Harika" proved that poverty does not hinder ambitions.

Ekalavya, who was passionate about archery, had a strong desire to study under Dronacharya, who was an expert in archery. But when Dronacharya refused to teach archery to a non-Kshatriya Ekalavyu, he did not get upset at all and made an idol of Drona out of clay.

Harikadi is the daughter of Satish Kumar and Anuradha of Nandev Guda, Nizamabad, an inspiring true success story of one such Abhinaya Ekalavya.

As Harika's father died when she was young, Mother Anuradha is working as a beedi worker to support the family. Harika, who was ahead of everyone else in studies since childhood, said that she wanted to become a doctor even when she was in the seventh standard. She studied diligently and passed class 10th and intermediate with good marks. She wanted to write NEET to fulfill her childhood ambition. But despite not being able to afford NEET coaching, she was not discouraged and encouraged by her mother. Despite being poor, Harika persevered as there are many ways to live and prepared for the exam by watching video classes on YouTube every day. She chose the YouTube channel to fulfill her desire without stopping due to lack of money for coaching and did a lot of penance and got 40 thousand rank in All India level and 700 rank in state level in NEET exam. She made the impossible possible with constant practice. Even if you get a good rank without coaching, after getting a seat in the college, you have to pay a total of 2 lakhs including fees, hostel fees and books. It is a great thing that many donors have come forward to help Harika, who is extremely poor, begging for financial assistance for her education, feeling that she will miss out on her studies.

Internet (mobile) has become a necessity for today's youth. While some people are using the internet for good, others are wasting their precious time through the internet. As many advantages as there are with social media, there are also disadvantages. Profit and loss depend on the user. If you use the internet for good, you can know many unknown things on this earth. Students can also find information on the internet that they cannot find in textbooks. Harika Vijaya who got 40 thousand rank in All India level in NEET exam without any coaching by listening to classes on YouTube is a good example of how beneficial the internet can be for students.

Harika is a role model for many who believe that poverty does not hinder the pursuit of ambition and reach their desired destination with the breath of a single goal.

There is no doubt that anything is possible in this world if you have the desire to achieve it.

A man can achieve anything in life except for the letter "im" in the word impossible.

Every student can achieve success if they have discipline, determination and hard work.

I wish every student to turn all obstacles into opportunities and fulfill their ambitions with continuous efforts.

An incomparable painter

An incomparable painter

If God created man! "Raja Ravi Varma" is the great artist who created the image of God for the world who did not know what God was like.

He was an artist who imagined the deities and their shapes in the mythological texts he read and gave life to the forms of gods and goddesses through his brush with a wonderful idea. It is needless to say that the idols of the gods that we worship all the time are based on his paintings. He not only spread the art of Indian painting to the world but also brought a rare respect to that art.

The pictures slipped from the brush of the Anabattis have gained continental fame. Even though his profession is teaching, "Anabattula Venkanna" who is innovating works of art with a passion for painting since his childhood and tireless practice as a great painter at the world level, "Anabattula Venkanna" is a great thing to be proud to be from Telangana.
